According to a statement released by Waec, results of the Basic Education Certificate Examination which was sat in June 2017 have been released. The Exam which was sat in June saw a total number of 468, 053 partaking of it. Out of this overwhelming number, 3,315 candidates absented themselves during the examinations.
A new technology, “Item differentia profile” was introduced to track candidates who will involve themselves in cheating during the examination. Hence, about 1,298 candidates have their results withheld and are under investigation. Results of these students would be released as and when the investigations are over. They stated.
According to the communique, this year’s BECE recorded no failures. All candidates were graded from 1 to 9. With 1 as the highest grade and 9 as the lowest grade.
They also mentioned that results which have been released are dispatched to the various Districts and Municipalities. However, the provisional results are online and candidates can access them.
